Our Story

A Schertz kitchen that feels like home

Melanie's Cafe has been a fixture on Main St in Schertz for early risers and lunch regulars alike, opening its doors at 6 a.m. most days to serve honest, homestyle Tex-Mex. It's a small, no-frills spot — and that's exactly the point. Customers keep telling us the same thing: this is the closest thing to home cooking they've found in Texas.

One guest, thirteen years removed from her home country, wrote that Melanie's Cafe was the most authentic food she'd eaten since — "more Mex than Tex" — and that families now drive in from as far as Dallas just to eat here again.
